Valery & Tu | Fall Vietnamese Catholic Wedding in Norcross

Valery and Tu’s beautiful November wedding at Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church in Norcross, GA was such a sweet, emotional day! These two met through mutual friends in Athens, GA. They would then have various chance encounters soon after with their favorite being randomly meeting on the highway. Tu eventually became infatuated with Valery and used any excuse to see Valery just one more time. They quickly became inseparable, sharing their love of sushi, TV dramas and co-op video games.

All they wanted for their wedding day was for it to be filled with fun, joy and a heck of a good dance party for their future lives together – boy did it fulfill their hopes! Valery is a crafty gal and DIY’d a lot of the decoration at their wedding reception at Royal China. She also made the bridesmaids’ bouquets. Their decor had a simple, fall, romantic vibe with coral and fall colors, bushy eucalyptus in the florals, and gold accents. Valery’s gorgeous wedding dress from Anya Bridal looked like it was straight out of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” music video with its off the shoulder straps, beautiful lace detailing and full layered tulle skirt! Valery and Tu shared a quick first look since they still needed to rehearse for the Mass and Tu’s reaction was “classic him” according to Valery.

The wedding Mass itself was beautiful. A tearful Valery walked down the aisle arm in arm with her mother to Tu. Valery’s father passed away seven years ago, and he was very much missed throughout the day. There were 7(!) priests presiding at their Vietnamese Catholic wedding Mass, including Valery’s uncle from Australia.

After lots of family photos, we went to McDaniel Farm for portraits of the wedding party. It was the perfect fall backdrop, and the wedding party was such a fun bunch! After photos, we followed them to Xing Fu Tang round the corner for some fun pics and Thai tea. I love when couples personalize the wedding day in ways like this!

The Royal China banquet hall was a beautiful spot to hold their giant reception. The couple had a giant charcuterie and sushi display made by the cousins of the bride during their cocktail hour. A traditional 9 course Vietnamese meal was served for dinner, and I was in HEAVEN!! Valery and Tu did the traditional table visits during their reception in traditional Vietnamese outfits. DJ Cuttlefish kept the party lit – I’ve never seen so many people get so rowdy at a wedding. We wrapped up our fun night with a bouquet toss and a bunny lantern exit out the front doors. I am so grateful for the awesome couples that trust me with their wedding photos and precious memories. Congrats Valery and Tu, I hope y’all enjoy married life.
