Marissa and Billy had a stunning Catholic wedding at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Duluth and Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, GA last weekend! The weather was gorgeous, the couple was head over heels in love, and the olive green bridesmaids’ dresses, hydrangeas and peonies, and abundance of happy tears made for the perfect April day!
Marissa and Billy met at Marissa’s sister’s wedding years ago, but didn’t connect until they were both asked to be godparents to her sister’s first child! After seeing Marissa on Hinge, Billy finally asked Marissa on a date, and the rest was history.
We started the day with some details and getting ready photos at Marissa’s parents house in Alpharetta. Marissa is very intentional with those she loves and it was sweet to witness her first look with her dad and her awesome bridesmaids. After we got to the church, Marissa and Billy shared a private moment to pray together before the ceremony Mass, where they exchanged letters they’d written each other and some tears. Their Catholic wedding Mass was beautiful – I just love photographing weddings at St. Benedict.
After the Mass, we headed over to the Golf Club for more photos. The grounds were gorgeous!! The weather was absolutely perfect, and I am obsessed with the photos we got of the bride & groom together. Emily with Marea Events did a fabulous job as a wedding planner. I really loved the florals by Joy Blooms – peonies, hydrangeas, and magnolia leaves are a stunning combination. The reception was smooth and full of time for the couple to be intentional with each of their guests. The guests seemed to love the live band and stayed on the dance floor consistently!
At the end of the night, they opted for a magical bubble exit! I am so grateful for the amazing Catholic couples that trust me with their wedding photos in Atlanta, Georgia. Congrats Marissa and Billy!!
