Maried and Phillip’s engagement session in the heart of Washington, D.C. last summer was a dream. Their love story is a sweet one – they met online and discovered that they were a great fit, despite being states apart. Early in their relationship, they started meeting halfway in the charming town of Havre De Grace, Maryland. Their dates often began with morning Mass, followed by brunch at a cozy diner, a stroll by the Chesapeake Bay, and whatever else caught their fancy—usually ending up at Target. One special day, during a picnic by the water in Havre De Grace, Phillip proposed, making their favorite spot even more meaningful.
We started our day at the magnificent Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The grandeur of the Basilica was the perfect backdrop for capturing their love and the anticipation of their journey ahead. The beautiful artwork and architecture highlighted their love story so well. The gardens outside made for a beautiful spot for photographs too.
After a lovely lunch together, we ventured to the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. The peaceful, tree-lined paths and serene waters provided a romantic setting, allowing the couple to relax and just be themselves. We wandered along the canal, stopping whenever the moment felt right, capturing the joy and connection they share. These two were so deeply in love that it felt like I was third wheeling the whole time!
Maried and Phillip’s session was filled with laughter, love, and the perfect touch of summer magic. I am so grateful they flew me to Washington, D.C. for their engagement session. I can’t wait to witness and document the next chapter of their story on their wedding day at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Duluth!
