Katherine and Nicholas had a stunning July wedding at the Catholic Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta with a wedding reception at the Roswell Mill Club last weekend! When Katherine reached out to me, I got so excited because I’d known her family in middle school. Her and Nicholas are happy and cute together. Leading up to their wedding I saw them at a couple of other weddings I photographed. It was so fun to see them flirt and tear it up on the dance floor.
Nick and Kat met in college at the University of Georgia in the engineering building (we love a STEM girl!!). They quickly fell in love with each other’s sense of adventure, faith, intellect, and love for Excel spreadsheets. 😉 We had the best engagement session at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center back in January. Nick basically swept Kat off her feet the entire time, so I was so excited to see how their wedding day would go!
Their Atlanta wedding day was smooth and easy. I was obsessed with their sage green blue color palette for a July wedding. Christ the King was stunning, and has moved up to my favorite Catholic church to photograph weddings in now. The two of them shared a sweet and tearful private moment before the Mass. Emily with Marea Weddings kept the day running smoothly too. I always recommend that couples hire a coordinator or planner for their wedding days.
Their Roswell Mill Club wedding reception was classy and simple. Kat and Nick chose to provide transportation to their guests between the church and venue. It made things so easy for everyone, since parking and traffic can be crazy in that area. It was a hot day, so the Mill was busy, but we managed to grab some portraits on the iconic bridge and by the water. One of the unique parts of their reception was a cigar bar on the back porch at RMC, an ode to the groom’s love for a good cigar. The night was wrapped up with a private last dance and a ribbon wand exit down the steps.
Katherine and Nicholas, THANK YOU for choosing me!!! I am so honored and I realize you could have chosen anyone!! We hope you can relax and enjoy this newlywed season together! You deserve it!!!
