Emily and Jonathan had a sweet winter wedding at St. Benedict Catholic Church and Taylor Lodge last week!
These sweethearts were friends for years before falling in love. As friends, they bonded over a Gymshark sale which led to partnering up for a co-ed Spikeball tournament. From there, they could not stop talking to each other, and found that they were looking forward to seeing each other again.
They were married St. Benedict Catholic Church in Duluth and their reception was at Taylor Lodge, the venue on campus. St. Benedict is one of my favorite churches in the metro area to photograph weddings in, so I was excited to shoot this one!
This wedding day actually fell on my own wedding anniversary and I had the joy of working with my sweet husband for this one. It was truly a unique lens to view a wedding day and a bit of a walk down memory lane!
We started the day at Taylor Lodge, with getting ready photos, details, and some family photos. As always, the awesome makeup and hair team at Brushworx kept everyone beautifully on schedule in the morning! Steph and Shelby from Fully Present Wedding Coordination (y’all already know how much I love them) kept all the details flowing and on time all day too. Jonathan and his groomsmen did some game day walk up photos, which turned out great! *Pst, if you’re one of my future grooms reading this, let’s do this on your wedding day!*
Before their wedding Mass, the bride and groom exchanged a tearful private moment, where they prayed together and shared handwritten vows and gifts. They both love sports and their baseball themed gifts to each other were perfect and in sync! The wedding Mass was beautiful, and Emily’s father and step-dad escorted her down the aisle. The church looked so pretty all decorated for Advent – a perk to getting married in December!
Their Taylor Lodge wedding reception was beautiful and full of life! Emily’s mom did all of the blue, rustic decoration herself and totally crushed it. From the delicious Ipp’s Pasteria catering to the Spikeball performance during the speeches, the night was a beautiful success. With a private last dance and a ribbon wand exit, they left to begin their life together. So much love for you, Emily and Jonathan!! Congratulations on your marriage!
