Thomas and Bailey had the sweetest wedding at the Cathedral of Christ the King and Dunwoody Country Club in Atlanta! The weather was gorgeous, the couple was very in love, and the thistle blue accents, swing dancing, and happy tears made for the perfect April day!
Bailey and Tommy met at an event hosted by the young adult group at the Cathedral where they tied the knot. Tommy asked Bailey if she knew how to swing dance (she didn’t) and they spent the rest of the night dancing, chatting, and laughing. He got her number and the rest is history! I had the privilege of meeting Tommy during college. When I met Bailey, I immediately saw why Tommy was so in love with her!
The Wedding Day
We started the day with some details photos (check out the crown of thorns engraving on the groom’s ring). The first looks with the bridesmaids and the father of the bride were so sweet, too. Bailey and Tommy shared a private moment to pray together before the ceremony, where they exchanged letters and some tears. Their Catholic wedding Mass was beautiful. I love shooting a wedding at the Cathedral of Christ the King so much! The epicness of the Cathedral and the drama of the lighting can’t be beat anywhere else in Atlanta.
After the Mass, we headed over to the Dunwoody Country Club for more photos. The grounds were gorgeous and full of beautiful flowers and landscaping. The veranda made the perfect spot for cocktail hour too. Their wedding reception was simple yet fun! The funfetti cake by Lil T’s Bakery was absolutely delicious and the catering at DCC is top notch. Tommy carried Bailey into the reception on his shoulder, where their guests encircled the dance floor, a perfect way to pull everyone together in such a large space! The bride’s father put together the sweetest movie montage and surprised the bride with a childhood stuffed animal, too. There was lots of dancing and laughter the rest of the night, and a Dirty Dancing lift moment with the couple!
We tried to sneak away for sunset photos but there was no sunset! It ended up just being some quiet time for Bailey and Tommy to have fun without a bunch of people watching them! For their exit, they kept it simple and had their guests cheer and clap as they ran out the door. I am so grateful for the amazing couples that trust me with their wedding photos and precious memories. Congrats Tommy and Bailey!!
